As a three-roll mill manufacturer, KRS configures each machine to the product, the required fineness and the batch sizes involved.

PRODUCTS – HYDRAULIC THREE-ROLL MILLS
Hydraulic Three-Roll Mill Manufacturer in India
KRS DISPERMAHLTECHNIK manufactures hydraulic three-roll mills for controlled dispersion and refining of paste inks, pigment pastes and other high-viscosity products.
OVERVIEW
What is a hydraulic three-roll mill?
A three-roll mill disperses and refines pastes between three horizontal rolls that turn in opposite directions at different speeds; the paste is sheared in the narrow gaps between them. In a hydraulic three-roll mill the pressure between the rolls is applied hydraulically, so that it can be set and held consistently. It is the milling machinery of choice where products are too viscous for a bead mill and a controlled, very uniform dispersion is required.
HOW IT WORKS
How a three-roll mill works
Feed
The paste is fed between the first two rolls, which rotate in opposite directions at different speeds.
Shear in the gaps
High shear in the narrow gaps between the rolls disperses and refines the product.
Take-off
A scraper blade takes the finished product off the last roll. The gap setting determines the fineness.
CONSTRUCTION
Machine construction and key features
A KRS three-roll mill carries three rolls between two machine side frames, with a feed zone and side guides between the first two rolls and a take-off apron with collecting tray at the last roll. The pressure between the rolls is applied hydraulically, and the machine is operated from a touchscreen control panel on a swivel arm.

What is a hydraulic three-roll mill?
A three-roll mill in which the pressure between the rolls is applied hydraulically. Three horizontal rolls running at different speeds disperse and refine high-viscosity pastes in the gaps between them.
What is a three-roll mill used for?
For dispersing and refining high-viscosity products – paste printing inks, pigment pastes and concentrates, and other viscous formulations that are difficult to process in a bead mill.
How does a three-roll mill work?
The paste is fed between the first two rolls. Because neighbouring rolls run at different speeds, the product is sheared in the narrow gaps, transferred to the last roll and taken off by a scraper blade. The gap setting determines the fineness.
What applications use three-roll mills?
Paste printing inks, pigment pastes and concentrates, high-viscosity paints and coatings, and other viscous chemical products.
How do I select a three-roll mill?
By the viscosity of the product, the required fineness, the batch sizes and throughput, and whether the product is heat-sensitive and needs roll cooling. KRS configures the mill around these points.
What information is required for a three-roll mill quotation?
Your product and application, viscosity, batch size or throughput, target fineness and any temperature sensitivity of the product.
